Winners

5-8 Catergory: Reuben Tagg – A stinky afternoon

It was a normal school day, but what smelly stuff lay ahead!  mum came to pick me up in the afternoon with my little brother jasper and our dog Pixie in the car.  On our way home we stopped in at the service station.  Mum went in to pay for the petrol.  And then it happened!!  Pixie did a big poo in the car and started jumping all through the car and got poo everywhere!!  Me and my little brother were crying and crying because it smelt so bad.  Mum nearly cried too.  What a bad stenchy day!!

9-12 Category:  Zara Reynolds – The full moon

At times of full moon

I get a strange yearning

to howl at the sky!

For reasons peculiar

I’ve not yet discovered,

The backs of my hands then

With fur become covered.

My fingernails lenghten,

My feet look like paws!

I feel a compulsion

To walk on all fours!

My eyes redly glimmer,

hair sprouts from my ears:

Fang-like my teeth grow,

with points sharp as spears!

Though normally fussy

about what I eat,

on nights when the moons full,

I crave raw red meat!!

13-18 Category: Darren Farkas – My Initiation

Here I am.  Me, as I am, standing in front of my ambition.  My dream.  My desire.  My initiation.  It sits there glistering its orange colour in the light of the capacious room.  The instrument of my eagerness rests on its stand, not producing a sound but when it does, it screams with indignation and oppression.  it doesn’t require any sound to make it appear to be absolutely astounding.  The design of the fretboard, the flames that will one day burn society; an orange shine that will blind the end.  This is my instrument;  it is my guiding source of prominence.
